Sealants are a clear or white-tinted material applied to the biting surfaces of mainly permanent molars as a method to help eliminate or decrease the possibility of decay occurring in those teeth. The permanent molars, most commonly the first permanent molar (the six year molar) are the most frequently decayed teeth. A sealant can only be done if the tooth is decay-free. Sealants require no anesthesia and take just a few minutes to apply. There are an excellent preventative, time-saving , and money-saving dental treatment.
